Daitoshi
Daitoshi places us in an era of unprecedented progress, driven by steam power. You will produce goods in your factory (earning resources) or move your magnate to a new district on the central board to perform an action. These actions allow you to hire new workers, expand the city, electrify a district, trade with other cities, or acquire new patents to upgrade your factory. However, these actions will always have an impact on the environment, angering the spirits and potentially causing some trouble... But those who don't take risks won't reap rewards!
Gameplay involves producing goods in factories to earn resources or moving magnates to new districts to perform various actions, such as hiring workers, expanding the city, electrifying districts, trading, or acquiring patents. These actions grant victory points and help develop the city, but they also damage natural resources, requiring players to balance growth with environmental impact. Some actions include reforestation to mitigate these effects and maintain harmony with the Yôkai.
Designed by Dani García (Barcelona, Arborea) and illustrated by Marina Vidal, Daitoshi is part of the Kemushi Saga, a thematic universe of board games (e.g., Bitoku, Bamboo, Sand). Its evocative art style is inspired by Studio Ghibli films, tying each game into a broader narrative. Ideal for 1-4 players aged 14+, sessions last approximately 2 hours.
